Taking in birds is often treated lightly in the world we live in, but the truth is that keeping a bird alive, healthy, and happy is a tremendous responsibility. You will have an innocent life in your hands, relying on you completely for care, safety, and comfort. It is a lot of work, and it requires thought, planning, and commitment.

We do our best to place birds with people who are fully aware of and ready for that responsibility. If any part of this form makes you hesitate, please take that seriously and think carefully about whether fostering or adopting is the right choice for you at this time.

There is no shame in changing your mind.

If you still want to be part of Cascadia but decide not to take birds into your care, there are many other ways to help our organization and we would be so grateful to have you. The volunteer form is always available for those who want to be involved, and it is much simpler than the foster/adoption application.
